Who
I’m a builder at heart, though it took me a while to understand that.
It was never about titles or climbing the corporate ladder — it’s about being around good people and working on problems I actually care about.
That’s where Refugee Code Academy came from, and the bitcoin mining company my brothers and I started, because I believe in bitcoin and what it stands for. Alongside all of that, I spent ten years at Amazon, and now I work on rockets.
Outside work it’s the gym, good food, friends, and figuring out where to go next.
We’re just sharing a brief moment in time — I’d rather spend it with good people, somewhere new.
What I’m good at
The work has moved from environmental engineering through analytics to applied AI, and this is the part that carried across.
Metrics, and the pipelines under them
I led metrics and reporting for Amazon’s Worldwide Sustainability team — the data pipelines underneath it, the LLM-assisted analysis on top, and the definitions in between that settle what a number actually means. The usual shape of the work is SQL and Python over Redshift, BigQuery or Databricks, out to Tableau, Power BI, Looker or QuickSight.
Applied AI, next to the real work
At Relativity Space I am the technical product manager for applied AI across manufacturing and supply chain systems: how rockets get built, and how the parts get there. It follows on directly from the LLM-assisted analysis I had been building into Amazon’s reporting.
Modelling a physical system
Four years of environmental engineering at the US Army Corps of Engineers — fate and transport modelling for munitions constituents, and life cycle assessments comparing treatment and disposal routes. The degrees behind it are applied mathematics and environmental engineering. A factory and a supply chain are physical systems too.
Starting things, then running them
I co-founded Refugee Code Academy alongside my master’s, and since 2021 my brothers and I have run a bitcoin mining company: hardware procurement, configuration and performance work, and advising people entering the space on infrastructure and cost models. Neither of them was anybody’s assignment.
